You’re looking at a very special rugby shirt — a one-off design to create memories for years to come!
It’s the shirt to be worn by members of Hautapu Sports Club’s Premier A side in their big game against Hamilton Marist at Memorial Park on Saturday (May 13).
The shirt has been specially designed by the club’s apparel partners, Dynasty NZ, to mark our club’s 2023 Club Day when we will support Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ and Reel Recovery NZ, raising awareness and money to help both charities continue their much-needed work.
The shirts bear the logos of both charities, and they’ll be auctioned off on Saturday to bidders who want these keepsakes for years to come.
Straight after the final whistle, the shirts will be cleaned, dried and delivered to the clubrooms for supporters to bid on.

Club Day
Hautapu Sports welcomes all past members and supporters who want to reconnect on a special day for the club.
Please help spread the word to former members who have been connected with our netball, rugby, or cricket teams, and coaches, supporters and family members.
Two special guests returning to our club will be former rugby players Peter Fergusson and Mark Tomsett.
Peter Fergusson is the CEO of Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ, our chosen charity for Club Day, while Mark Tomsett helps run Reel Recovery NZ, our partner charity for the event.
Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ
Every four hours, a New Zealander is diagnosed with a cancer or related condition.
Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ was formed in 1977 to support those with blood-related cancer by providing patient support, financial support for research, providing information and creating awareness of the disease, and by providing advocacy services.

Reel Recovery NZ
Reel Recovery was founded in 2003 by a group of avid fly-fishers, inspired by their fishing buddy’s ongoing battle with brain cancer.
Witnessing first-hand the beneficial impact fly-fishing provided their friend, they created Reel Recovery to provide the same opportunity for other men battling the disease, by providing fishing retreats.
Combining expert fly-fishing instruction with directed “courageous conversations”, the organization provides men with all forms of cancer a unique opportunity to share their stories, learn a new skill, form lasting friendships and gain renewed hope as they confront the challenges of cancer.

Our club’s efforts to combat cancer
Hautapu Sports Club stages bi-annual fundraising events to support organisations that are fighting cancer.
Two years ago, our last event raised $41,600.
Some of the funds raised also help support our club’s Whaanau Fund.
