Club and community help Kids in Need charity put together care packs

posted in: News

Hautapu Sports members have donated clothing and materials as part of an appeal to help Waikato charity Kids in Need.

Club members went looking for suitable items over Easter and, with the support of the Cambridge community, were able to provide “a decent amount” of items to Kids in Need.

Some of the donated clothing has already been gifted to young boys who needed XL items.

Kids in Need has been supporting kids in care, aged 0-17, for 10 years, and formed their charitable trust in 2018.

The volunteer-run Kids in Need team put together care packs made up of new and second-hand items donated by individuals and community groups, presenting them to needy children.

By mid-April, Kids in Need had put together more than 400 care packs in 2024, and they delivered almost 1,600 last year.

How you can help
