Registrations have opened for players wanting to represent Hautapu Sports Club during the 2025 Waikato rugby season.
The club will field four teams — Premier A, Development, Colts and Women’s.
New Zealand Rugby have introduced a new national registration system which adds new steps to the registration process this year.
First, you have create a profile with Rugby Xplorer, the new national system, and then register to play rugby.
Once that’s done, you can then register to play for Hautapu Sports.

STEP 1: Create your profile in Rugby Xplorer here >>>>
STEP 2: Register to play rugby:
- From your profile page, click on ‘register’
- Click ‘find a club’ under ‘play rugby’
- Select the person’s profile you want to register to our club
- Type in Hautapu Sports Club (it should auto-fill)
- Select your role (player/coach/manager/match official) and duration
- Check everything’s correct and click ‘next’
- Upload a photo of yourself, click ‘next’
- Complete personal details, click ‘next’
- Provide details of emergency contact, click ‘next’
- Enter weight, click ‘next’
- Answer three national questions, click ‘next’
- Review the summary and terms & conditions
- Return to the registration screen and tick the T&Cs button, click on ‘pay’
- Click finish
