Tokoroa’s SURF Club will host the fourth and final round of games in the Power Farming Cup on Sunday (August 20), featuring the Cambridge Colts who include a number of Hautapu Sports players in their squads.
The tournament for young rugby players has run over four weekends.
On Sunday, Cambridge Colts will play the South Waikato Stags and the Morrinsville Herd.

The Stags include players from Sunday’s host club, Southern United, and Putaruru.
The Herd draw their players from Morrinsville and Kereone.
What is the Power Farming Cup?
The official tournament website describes the competition like this:
“There’s more to rugby than just winning. It’s about being part of a team, supporting each other, learning to come back from defeat and taking pride in the progress. Playing rugby should be character-building — in the very best sense.
“That’s why we sponsor the Power Farming Cup, a rugby tournament for Waikato kids that awards points not only for tries, conversions and kicks, but for the sportsmanship of those on the field.
“Our referees will add their additional points before the conclusion of each game, making a great attitude on the pitch a crucial way to win.
“Ultimately, we want to make rugby a game that everyone can be proud to be a part of, whether you’re running with your teammates or supporting on the sides.
“The Power Farming Cup will kick off on 30th July 2023 for four consecutive Sundays.
“Games will be divided by player size, with under 45kg, and 45-60kg games and a new competition this year of 3 teams in an over 60kg division.
“They’re 40-minute games, with 10 minutes for half-time. Squads have a maximum of 22 players.”
