Hautapu Sports Club’s junior netball teams take to the court on Saturday for the last time for the 2024 season at Cambridge Netball Centre.

Saturday August 31 is Festival Day for the club’s Year 3-6 futureFERNS where all teams get to show their creative side and bring colour and fun to their game, while also demonstrating the skill and learnings they have developed through the futureFERNS programme this season.

Saturday is also Finals Day for the Year 7-8 teams.

“Congratulations to all teams,” director of junior netball Jody Anderson said.

“We know you have all been working hard this season on developing your knowledge and skill in the 7v7 format. It’s been great to see so many Year 7-8 Netball Teams proudly representing Hautapu Sports this season.”

A Battle of the Bridges game will provide the curtain raiser with the following games:

  • Year 7 Final Hautapu Moana vs Leamington Cyclones (11.55am, Court 6)
  • Year 8 Final Hautapu Tangaroa vs Leamington Storm (12.55pm, Court 6)

Meanwhile, the Hautapu 7A and 8A teams also have their finals on Saturday in the Hamilton City Centre Netball competition.

These two teams have represented not only themselves but also Hautapu Sports proudly and have successfully maintained their positioning in the top divisions of each of their grades.

After successfully topping the table in the second round of competition in the Year 7 A-Grade, Hautapu 7A face Fairfield Intermediate 7A in their final on Court 1 at Minogue Park at 8.30am.

Hatapu 8A take to the court for their final game of the season in the Year 8 A1 Grade against Berkley 8A at 11.30am on Court 9.

Hautapu supporters are welcome at either (or both) netball centres to cheer on the club’s teams.

Congratulations to all Hautapu Sports teams on what has been a truly successful year of growth and development for netball within the club. Good luck for your games this weekend.
