ROUND-UP: Premier A and Colts games go to the wire at Memorial Park

posted in: News, Rugby

Memorial Park hosted a couple of thrillers in the latest rounds of senior Waikato rugby, with the Premier A and Colts games going to the wire.

In a rematch of last season’s Breweries Shield grand final, Hautapu hosted Hamilton Marist, and led for most of the game.

But Marist came back with a storming finish to take the match 21-19.

The Colts edged Waikato University 26-24 in an entertaining match that keeps the Hautapu side in second place on the competition table.

Hautapu’s development side lost 60-19 to Marist, while the Women’s Championship side had a bye.

Next weekend, the Premier A and development teams head to Te Awamutu for a battle of Waipa double header.
