Quintony Ngatai latest Hautapu player to represent Waikato in NPC

posted in: News, Rugby

Hautapu Sports’ Quintony Ngatai has become the ninth player from the club to represent Waikato in this season’s National Provincial Championship.

Ngatai was added to the Waikato squad for last weekend’s 27-12 win against Auckland to retain the Stan Thomas Memorial trophy in round seven of the Bunnings NPC.

He becomes the latest member of Hautapu’s Breweries Shield-winning squad to pull on a Waikato shirt, joining Mitch Jacobson, Ayden Johnstone, Luke Jacobson, Pita Anae-Ah Sue, Lachlan McWhannell, Hamilton Burr, Ollie Norris and Simon Parker.

Waikato snapped a two-game losing streak to beat Auckland at Bell Park.

Meanwhile, Luke Jacobson was in the starting line-up for the All Blacks in their 71-3 win against Namibia at the Rugby World Cup in France.

It was his second appearance at the tournament, having come off the bench in the opening game against France.
