Hautapu Sports among the winners as Waikato Rugby celebrates annual awards

Waikato Rugby’s annual awards have recognised achievements by Hautapu Sports with the club’s Breweries Shield-winning side named the Power Farming Club Team of the Year.

Sean Hohneck, coach of the title-winning team, was named Grassroots Trust Senior Club Coach of the Year.

Hautapu’s Ollie Norris was awarded the Waikato Draught Bunnings NPC Player of the Year.

The Gallagher Waikato Rugby awards were presented at a function held at Hamilton’s K’aute Pasifika Village Fale on Tuesday September 19, 2023.

Hautapu Sports were finalists in the the award for Waikato Draught Club of the Year, won by Putaruru who were lauded for their increase in player numbers and their community engagements.

The Gallagher Waikato Rugby awards recognise people and teams that have made an outstanding contribution to Waikato Rugby in 2023.

The evening covered the entire spectrum of the game including coaches, players, referees, volunteers and administrators from junior, school, club, and representative levels.
