Applicants sought for role as Hautapu’s Sports Club Manager

Hautapu Sports Club is looking to recruit a well-organised sports enthusiast to take on the role as our Sports Club Manager.

The establishment of the role follows the departure of Hautapu General Manager Andrew Douglas who has taken up a high-performance sports role in Hong Kong.

The club has appointed Cambridge’s People In Mind consultancy to help find the ideal person for the Sports Club Manager’s role which will oversee the club’s daily operations and manage its business aspects.

About the role | He Korero Mō te tūranga

You will work closely with the board to ensure the overall operations of the club are well managed and the club continues to achieve its goals.

A core focus of this role is the development and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders, including players, coaches, volunteers, professional bodies, schools, sponsors and business partners.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the delivery of member services and sports programmes
• Growing revenue streams for the club
• Motivating and leading the team to achieve club objectives
• Continued promotion of the club and it’s initiatives
• Coordinating the administration tasks required for each sport
• Management of club sponsorship activities
• Maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

The hours required on a weekly basis are expected to range between 20 and 30 hours per week in line with seasonal requirements. Over time, there is potential for hours to increase as the club continues to grow. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the club.

About you | He Kōrero mōu

You are someone who is well-organised and passionate about club sport. You will also have:

• A hands-on work ethic and flexible nature
• Management experience
• An understanding of the opportunities and issues affecting the sports club industry
• Excellent communication and motivation skills
• Solid administrative skills with well-organised, transparent, and efficient processes
• Experience using Microsoft programs, diary management software and databases
• The ability to handle anything that comes your way with diplomacy and respect.
