Hautapu Colts win Centenary Cup with 20-10 win against Leamington

Hautapu Sports are the inaugural winners of the Centenary Cup, a trophy to be contested the club’s Colts and their counterparts from local rivals Leamington.

Hautapu won the first staging of the event 20-10 at Memorial Park in a match that extends the Colts winning streak to eight matches and keeps them as co-leaders of their competition with unbeaten Hamilton Marist.

The Centenary Cup was donated by the Cambridge Rugby Referees Association to mark their 100th year celebrations.

Meanwhile, Hautapua’s Premier A side beat bottom-placed Morrinsville 85-5.

The club’s Development team narrowly lost their Premier B fixture, losing 21-24 at Morrinsville.
