Hautapu Sports finished strongly to beat Varsity 55-8 for their first Waikato Premier A rugby win of the season.
Playing at Memorial Park for the first time in 2023, the Hautapu A side led 17-3 at half-time, before comfortably recording their win.
In the early game, Hautapu’s Development team lost 19-38 to Varsity’s B team.
The Hautapu Colts did not play as they had a bye in their competition.
