posted in: Juniors, News, Uncategorized

Here’s our summary of information to explain how Hautapu Sports Club’s primary hockey season will run in 2022, with key dates, how to register and what children will need to participate.

Timetable

Primary hockey will start on May 6, 2022 (Week one, Term two).

Hautapu Sports Club will enter teams into the Cambridge Mini Hockey module.

Games are played on Friday afternoons and evenings at St Peter’s Private School Hockey Turf, at 1716 Cambridge Road, Cambridge.

All children, both boys and girls, from Year 3 to Year 6 are eligible to play. Teams play in two grades, one for year 3/4 teams one for year 5/6 teams. All teams will be mixed and split between the two years groups in their grade.

The season consists of 14 playing weeks with there being no games on June 3 (Queens Birthday), June 17 (Fieldays Friday), June 24 (Matariki) and July 8, 15 and 22 (Term 2 holidays). The final playing day is September 16, 2022.

Draws will be sent to all registered players when they are to hand. Weekly draws will be published on the Hautapu Sports Juniors and Cambridge Mini Hockey Facebook pages.

How to register

If your child wishes to play for Hautapu Sports this year please complete and submit our registration form.

A separate form will be required for each child. This form needs to be submitted by Friday March 18, 2022, to enable time to formulate teams and register with Cambridge Mini Hockey. We endevour to send out the team lists on Friday April 8, 2022.

Fees are $65 per player. You will receive an invoice for this.

What you’ll need

All players will need Hautapu Sports socks, (Hautapu Shorts or black shorts), shinpads, mouthguard and a hockey stick. Playing shirts will be provided for the season. We have a limited number of hockey sticks that are available to borrow for the season.

Volunteers needed

We require volunteers who are interested in coaching and managing teams. Without these important people teams cannot operate.

If you, or anyone you know is interested in supporting our teams in this way please indicate this, with your contact details, on the attached form. Hautapu Sports fully supports and provides training for our coaches and managers.

Teams that do not have a coach and/or manager may not be registered and therefore be unable to play this season.

Currently, pursuant to Hockey New Zealand, Waikato Hockey and venue rules, all coaches, managers, umpires and spectators that are over 12 years and 3 months old must hold a current Vaccine Pass.
