ROUND-UP: Semi-finals and a grand final ahead for Hautapu’s senior teams

Hautapu Sports’ top two sides are through to the semi-finals of Waikato Rugby’s premier club competitions.

The Premier A side will go into a semi-final against University of Waikato as they strive to win back-to-back Waikato Breweries Shields.

If they beat University in the semi-final, they’ll play the winner of the semi-final between Hamilton Marist and Hamilton Old Boys.

Playing their last round-robin match, Hautapu’s Premier A side lost 31-17 to University.

Hautapu Sports’ Development side have made the semi-finals of the Rowe Cup Premiership for the first time since 2018.

They got to the last four with a 29-17 win against University.

The Development side will face Hamilton Old Boys in their semi-final, with the winner meeting the victor of the second semi-final, between Otorohanga and Hamilton Marist.

The Hautapu Colts have reached the final of their competition for the third year in a row, and will host Hamilton Marist as they play for the Elliot Shield.

It’s the first time Hautapu Sports have hosted a Colts final since 2010.

In their semi-final, Hautapu trailed 13-12 at half-time against Hamilton Old Boys.

Defending their line till the 84th minute, the Colts were able to get the turnover to secure the win.
