Hautapu Sports have finished runners-up at the 2023 Hinuera Sevens tournament.
The sevens team qualified from their Premier men’s group with a 31-19 win against Melville Development and a 36-5 win against Frankton.
Despite a group loss to Matakesi, Hautapu qualified for the knockout stages.
With a semi-final win against Hamilton Old Boys, Hautapu reached the final but lost for the second time in the day to Matakesi.
Next Saturday (November 4), Hautapu will have teams in the Men’s Open and Colts U-21 sections of the 2023 Waikato Club Sevens at Memorial Park.
