A familiar face to many Cambridge residents at sports venues and events, long-time netball enthusiast Jody Anderson has become Hautapu Sports Club’s Junior Netball Coordinator for 2023.
Anderson’s involvement with the club began her Munro Rovers Premier Netball team became affiliated to Hautapu in 1997, enabling the formation of the Hautapu Premier Netball team.
Since then, her involvement in the club has expanded through the activities of her husband, Dion, and her children.
During winter, you’ll find Jody Anderson sideline coaching daughter Leah (11) in a Hautapu netball team, or cheering on son Mitchell (14) in a rugby match.
Over summer, she and Dion volunteer their time and enthusiasm to help with touch, cricket and athletics.
In 2023, she will lead the club’s continued growth in junior netball numbers.
Last year, Hautapu registered 284 year 1 – 8 junior netballers and in 2023, the club anticipates more growth as its year 7 and 8 netball programme is expands.
Jody Anderson’s experience as a player, coach and past role as a school netball coordinator means she will bring a wealth of knowledge to the club’s role.
She says her main focus as the Hautapu Junior Netball Coordinator is to ensure that the club creates quality experiences for all young people within our community, to keep them active, engaged and within the game while having fun, helping them to grow and develop within a safe, supportive environment.
