Hautapu Sports’ premier netball side have three vital games left in their quest for play-off spots this season.

Having finished third in the first round of Cambridge Women’s Premier competition, the Property Brokers Hautapu Premier Netball Team now lead the Championship round.

With three games to play before semi-finals and finals, games are becoming more crucial each week.

On Monday August 1, at St Peter’s School Cambridge gym, they take on Otorohanga who finished the first round in top place.

The team is coached by Rebecca Greenhalgh who was recently named as the New World Cambridge Netball Centre Open Team Coach for 2022 and will be taking the open team to their inaugural National Champs in Palmerston North in September.

Our own Hautapu Sports’ Dawn Wakelin has been named in the open team and co-captain Amy Bottcher is a training partner. I

Our premier team also have three players who have been selected in the Hamilton City open team. They are Hannah Riddle-Pelchen, Georgia Tong (current Magic player) and Monica Falkner (former Magic player, now current Mystics player).

The Hautapu team is a mix of players new to premier-level, players with Silver Ferns level and ANZ Championship experience.

In their last game, they beat Leamington 71-18.

  1. Club supporters are invited to come along to support the team in their remaining games at St Peter’s.
