Hautapu Sports Club’s senior men’s side Woodcom Hautapu have reached the grand final of Waikato hockey’s Men’s Reserve 2 competition.
With goals from Pieter Holtzhausen and Michael Fraser (2), the Woodcom Hautapu Men’s team beat Varsity 3-1 in Sunday’s semi-final.
They’ll meet Collegians in the final at 1.30pm on Saturday August 16, 2025, at the Gallagher Hockey Centre in Hamilton.
The match will bring to a close the second season of senior hockey at Hautapu Sports in which all four teams made it through to the semi-finals of their competitions.
In the Women’s Reserve 3 semi-final, Varsity WR2 beat Evans & Co. Hautapu 3-1 to go into next week’s grand final against their other side, Varsity Chicks.
Te Miro Water Hautapu lost their Men’s Reserve 4 semi-final 4-1 to Suburbs Junior Development and will play Varsity in the grand final.
The Waipa Civil Hautapu Women’s team lost their semi-final 1-0 to Wanderers, who will face Suburbs in the grand final.
