Hautapu Sports Club’s four senior hockey teams have all reached the semi-finals of their Waikato competitions.
They’ll go into the championship play-offs next Sunday after clinching top four positions in their grades, with their latest results.
Playing on Saturday, the Woodcom Hautapu Sports Men’s beat TA Quipcheck 4-1 to secure third position in the Men’s Reserve 2 grade.
Hautapu’s other men’s team, Te Miro Water Hautapu, lost 2-0 to grade leaders Suburbs Development but were still able to land a semi-final berth with their fourth-placing in the Men’s Reserve 3 competition.
A 2-1 win by Waipa Civil Hautapu Women’s against Suburbs was enough for them to guarantee semi-final hockey in the Women’s Reserve 2 grade.
Despite losing 3-1 to Ngaruawahia, Evans & Co. Hautapu Women’s finished top of the table in the Women’s Reserve 3 competition and will play Varsity in next weekend’s semi-final
