Hautapu Sports’ top rugby sides have plenty to strive for this week as they prepare for crucial games next weekend.
As the Premier A and Development teams go into the final fixtures of their round-robin competitions, wins against the University of Waikato on July 6 will mean:
- The Premier A side will be guaranteed a home semi-final as they chase back-to-back Waikato Breweries Shields.
- The Development squad can claim a spot in the semi-finals of the Rowe Cup.
In their latest games, the Premier A team took a 10-point lead into half-time against Hamilton Old Boys, and gained a bonus point win with the final score 22-12.
Hamilton Old Boys took a 10-0 lead in the first half against Hautapu’s Development side and completed the win 25-7 to stay top of their competition table.
That result left Hautapu level on three points with next week’s opponents, University of Waikato.
