At Hautapu Sports Club, the driving force and engine of the club is the strength of volunteers who make a real difference every day.

It is National Volunteers Week (June 16-22), and club president Dave Simes says the club is excited to shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who dedicate their time and effort to support our club in so many different ways.

Dave Simes … ‘our volunteers are the heart and soul of Hautapu Sports Club.’

“From maintaining our pristine grounds to steering our committees, from managing the sporting codes to umpiring on the court, from coaching our teams to managing day-to-day operations, our volunteers are the heart and soul of Hautapu Sports Club.

“Their unwavering commitment ensures that every game, every practice, and every event runs smoothly, creating memorable experiences for our players, members, sponsors and supporters.”

Hautapu Sports Club now boasts 113 teams across various winter sporting codes.

Each team is led by dedicated coaches and managers who volunteer their time to guide our players towards success.

Behind them, a network of 307 volunteers support everything from club and ground maintenance to administration, ensuring our club operates smoothly year-round.
