ROUND-UP: Winning streak finally ends for senior women’s hockey side

After a winning streak of six games, Hautapu Sports’ women’s hockey side have finally been beaten, losing 2-1 to Swampfrog Old Girls in their latest fixture.

Playing in the Waikato Women’s Reserve 3 competition, Ahumaia Aramoana-Arlidge scored for Hautapu to keep the side within one point of competition leaders Suburbs strikers.

Meanwhile, the Hautapu men’s team extended their winning run to seven games with a 5-1 win against Concept Joinerey Old Boys.

Neither team has a fixture over King’s Birthday Weekend and they resume their seasons on June 9.

Hautapu Sports Club will host a senior hockey fundraising quiz night on Wednesday May 29, 2024.

Funds raised will be used to help buy equipment, resources and uniforms for the inaugural season for our women’s and men’s hockey teams.

Entries have closed with 25 quiz teams entered.
