ROUND-UP: A Waipa derby win and a day of close results for senior rugby teams

Hautapu Sports won the battle of Waipa in round 6 of Waikato Rugby’s Premier A competition, beating Te Awamutu Sports 41-10 at Albert Park.

Hautapu trailed the home side 10-5 at half-time but came storming home for a one-sided finish.

In the Premier B game, Hautapu led at the break by 19-15 but Te Awamutu had the better of the second half to get the win by a single point, winning 25-24.

The Hautapu Colts travelled to Centennial Field, Paeroa, for their match against Rugby United and won 29-14.

They remain co-leaders in their competition.

In the closest result of the day, Hautapu drew 29-29 with Waitete at Memorial Park.
