ROUND-UP: Emphatic wins for development and women’s teams in senior rugby

posted in: News, Rugby

Hautapu Sports’ development team recorded their first win of the 2024 season with a convincing 36-12 win against Fraser Tech at Memorial Park.

On a day when all four of the club’s senior rugby teams played in front of home supporters, the Premier A and Women’s Championship teams maintained their winning starts to the season, each recording their second wins of the season.

The Premier A team beat Fraser Tech 27-14, while the women racked up 79 points in a runaway win against Pirongia, another club having their first season of women’s rugby.

Hat-tricks to Keelah Bodle and Hayley-Marie Church highlighted the 13-try rout for Hautapu.

The Colts lost a close tussle with Hamilton Marist, going down 15-20 in a repeat of last year’s Elliot Shield final.
