Outside back Tom Maiava has become Hautapu Sports’ latest player to gain international recognition for his rugby ability.
Maiava was selected for the Samoan national side that participated at the 2024 HSBC World Sevens series held in Perth, Western Australia, at the end of January.
His selection for the Manu Samoa 7s followed an impressive performance at the 2023 Pacific Games.
Now playing for Samoa’s Marist St Joseph’s club, Maiava made his debut at the Games, helping Samoa clinch the silver medal after losing the final to favourites Fiji.
