Hautapu Sports will play Hamilton Old Boys in the semi-finals of the Waikato Draught Breweries Shield Premiership at Memorial Park.
The fixture was confirmed by results in the final round of Waikato Premier Rugby Premiership phase games played on July 1.
In the other semi-final on July 8, Te Awamutu will host Hamilton Marist.
The Premier A side went down 25-21 in a close encounter at Marist Park, Hamilton.
The sides were locked 7-7 at half-time but Marist got the edge in the second spell.
In the early game, Hautapu’s Development team were in the contest at half-time, trailing by only three points with the score 17-14 in the home side’s favour.
But Marist got the upper hand in the second half to win 41-19.
Despite not playing at the weekend, the Colts (who won by default against Fraser Tech) moved into second place in the round robin standings after Hamilton Marist’s 27-5 win against Hamilton Old Boys.
The results leave Hautapu’s Colts in second spot after 13 rounds, and looking forward to next Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash at Hamilton Marist.
