Hautapu Sports have all but ensured a first-seed spot for the Waikato Premier Rugby finals series with an emphatic win against Hamilton Old Boys at Memorial Park.

The Premier A side beat Old Boys 41-5, after leading 24-0 at the break, to remain the only unbeaten side in the Premiership phase of the competition.

Hautapu lead the table but play third-placed Hamilton Marist in the last game of the series next Saturday.

Second-placed Te Awamutu can’t catch Hautapu as they’ve completed their four games.

The Development team lost 63-5 to Old Boys after trailing 21-5 at half-time.

Meanwhile, Hautapu Colts continued their winning way with a 31-5 victory against University at Memorial Park.

The Colts led 19-5 at half-time.
