Senior netball teams making good progress in first phase of season

Senior netball is well underway for Hautapu Sports Club’s teams, with the first phase of the season completed or nearing completion for each grade.

All teams have represented the club well, and we are super proud of this sportsmanship — both behaviour and attitude. It is being noticed by the CNC officials.

While our Monday night mixed teams are towards the bottom end of the leaderboard, with a number in both teams being new to netball this year, it is great to see them improving week on week and having a good time on court.

Our Wednesday night Ladies Premier teams are both doing well in a tough competition.

On Wednesday (May 24), they played each other, with Prem Red, taking the win, although it was not an easy win, as Prem White, a new developing team this year, really fought hard for contention.

Saturday’s schedule

Our Prem Reserve teams on Saturday, Hawks and Development are enjoying the tough competition this year. It is great to see the level of netball in this Grade really lift this year.

Hawks, Leamington and TVP Phoenix all finished on equal points on the leaderboard as they start the next phase of competition this weekend. The first game up is Hautapu v Hautapu at 10.30am on Saturday.

Our Saturday teams in A Grade have seen Hot Shots and Goal Diggers take the top two places on the leaderboard, so congratulations to you both.

Eclipse, our newest team to the competition, are also starting to really gel and we look forward to seeing more from them as well.

Again we see another Hautapu v Hautapu battle with Eclipse v Goal Diggers playing each other at 1.55pm.

Hot Shots v Leamington at 12.55pm too, so will be another good game to watch.

Finally, thanks to all our supporters — coaches, managers, bench officials, umpires and primary care officers. These are all volunteers and our teams could not operate without your support, so we a very grateful.
