Hautapu Sports continue to be well-placed to make the Waikato Premier A rugby finals after a 31-19 win at Hamilton Old Boys.

Hautapu turned around with 24-0 half-time lead but the home side rallied to reduce the deficit.

The result leaves Hautapu in second place on the 10-team table, five points clear of their nearest rivals.

In the Premier B competition, Hautapu’s Development team lost 35-25 to Hamilton Old Boys.

Meanwhile, Hautapu’s Colts continued their winning way with their seventh successive victory, beating Pirongia 38-12 after the sides were tied 12-12 at half-time.

The Colts play local rivals Leamington at Memorial Park next weekend (May 27).
