Hautapu Sports Club offers junior rugby to all children from year 0 to year 6 for the 2024 season.
All year 7 and 8 players MUST join and play for CJRS. This information will be communicated when details have been finalised.
Tackle rugby teams, year 3-6 children will play at Memorial Park, Taylor Street, Cambridge, on Saturday mornings.
Depending on the number of teams in each tackle grade, some grades may travel between various clubs for games as we have in the past. These clubs may include Putaruru, Hinuera and SURF (Tokoroa).
Rippa Rugby teams, for new entrants to year 2 children, will play on Friday evenings with some weeks at Memorial Park, Taylor Street, and some games at Leamington Rugby Club, Carlyle St, Leamington.
The cost per player for the 2024 season is $70. Parents/carers will be invoiced by the end of March for this fee.
The registration form needs to be submitted by Friday March 15, 2024, to allow time to formulate teams, organise coaches and managers, and register the teams.
Our club will try to keep school groups together where possible.
Players not registered by this date will be placed in teams only where possible.
Playing kit
All players will need Hautapu Sports Club socks, Hautapu Shorts Club shorts, a mouthguard and rugby boots.
Playing jerseys will be provided for the season.
How you can help
We require volunteers who are interested in coaching and managing teams. Without these important people, teams cannot operate. If you or anyone you know is interested in supporting our teams in this way, please contact us.
Hautapu Sports Club fully supports and provides training for our coaches and managers. Teams that do not have a coach and/or manager may not be registered and therefore be unable to play this season.
Coaches and managers will be required to attend a Small Blacks course, to be held at the Hautapu clubrooms on May 1, 2024.
Pre-season information evening
We will hold a pre-season information evening for all coaches, managers and those other parents/caregivers who wish to attend.
This will be at 6pm, Tuesday April 9, 2024, at the Hautapu Sports Clubrooms.
