Former Hautapu rugby star takes up boxing gloves for charity event

Former Hautapu Sports rugby star Liam Messam is heading into the boxing ring for charity.

The 38-year-old All Black will put on the gloves for New Zealand’s most recognised celebrity sporting event, Fight for Life, to raise money for Mike King’s ‘I Am Hope’ Charity.

Messam will fight rugby league star James Gavet.

The Fight for Life event will be held at Auckland’s Eventfinda Stadium, Wairau Valley, on Thursday July 21.
