Congratulations to Hautapu Sports’ rugby player Mikah Bear who has won a new award to recognise local building trade apprentices.
Bear plays for our Colts team who are sponsored by Rob May Builders, who employ him as an apprentice.
The award from Rotary of Cambridge provides a grant to help apprentices cover their costs – and tools – and to encourage others to take up careers in the building trade.
Announcing the award on their Facebook page, Rob May Builders said: “We are very chuffed to say that our apprentice Mikah Bear is one of the very first recipients of the grant! The Rotary gang presented Mikah with his grant at a special dinner tonight. Nice one Mikah!”
