Calling all our Hautapu Sports junior superstars!

You’re invited to a club day at Memorial Park on Saturday (June 18) to celebrate and recognise our youngest members.

All three of the club’s senior rugby teams are playing at home, the first time we’ve had them together on one day this season.

We plan to have a junior march around the number 1 field between the Senior B and Premier rugby games.

Following this, we would love to have our juniors form a tunnel for the premiers reaching from the changing rooms at the clubrooms right up to the number 1 field.

Our Colts (U-21) and Premier B teams will join with the juniors to form this tunnel.

Once the Premier A game starts, we will provide sausages in bread, and a drink for our juniors.

What you need to know

  • Juniors should wear their Hautapu Sports Club playing strip (hockey top, netball top/dress or rugby jersey). A thermal or warm top under their playing strip is perfectly fine.
  • Meet us at the back of the clubrooms garden bar at 2.10pm.
  • At 2.20pm, we will get organised in a “line” and make our way to the number one field.
  • At the conclusion of the 1 pm game, our superstars will complete one circuit of the number 1 field.
  • As they come off the field march, our juniors will make their way to a tunnel to clap our Premiers onto the field for their 2.45pm game.
  • Once the Premier game begins, juniors go to the high school end of the number one field for their sausage and drink.
  • We need volunteers to help cook the sausages, distribute treats to our players and organise the juniors for the march parade, and to form the tunnel.

Let’s try to create a huge sea of red and white to celebrate our juniors and support the senior rugby players. ‘

If you have any questions or are able to volunteer to help please email Marie Dale.
