The fields at Memorial Park were awash with red and white as Hautapu Sports Club’s junior rugby (tackle) players took to the pitches with enthusiasm and smiles.
The Saturday morning games on May 28, 2022, included an 11th grade match between Hautapu Sports Poro and Hautapu Sports Taiaha.
Both teams are made up of players from Cambridge Primary School and this game was played with every bit as much intensity as a senior rugby ‘Battle of the Bridge’ — truly, a game of ‘mate v mate’.
