Former Hautapu senior A rugby player Chris Richter-Visser has died, aged 56.

Talented at a number of sports, Richter-Visser played for Hautapu’s top team in 1990 and 1991, and remained a follower of the club after his retirement from playing.

Brother Anton said:

“Chris was recognised as a very gifted sportsman and excelled at cricket, golf, squash, rugby, football, basketball and even hockey. There are many people who have been touched by Chris, not only through his sporting brilliance and on-field actions and also by his humble nature off the field.

“He had some outstanding achievements in his time, but none more so than the brave and dignified 18-year battle with cancer. Chris never complained — he just got on with living. He will be sadly missed by all.”
