Severe weather warnings force cancellation of senior hockey fixtures

All Hautapu Sports' senior hockey fixtures were cancelled for Sunday April 12 after severe weather warnings related to Cyclone Vaianu.

In a statement, Waikato Hockey said: "Due to current severe weather warnings and the pre‑emptive State of Emergency declared for the Waikato region, Waikato Hockey has cancelled all hockey activity scheduled for Sunday April 12.

"All fixtures are cancelled (not postponed) and will not be rescheduled. As a result, no points or goals will be recorded.

"The safety of our community is our top priority. We encourage everyone to take care and remain safe during Cyclone Vaianu."
