ROUND-UP: Three senior hockey teams clinch places in semi-finals

Hautapu Sports Club’s senior hockey teams have had an outstanding Club Day in which three of them qualified for the semi-final stages of their competitions.

All four teams played at St Peter’s, Cambridge, on Sunday June 15, 2025, in back-to-back games, so they could host Club Day at the venue.

The Waipa Civil Hautapu Women’s team beat Hamilton Old Girls Development 5-2 to go top of the eight-team Women’s Reserve competition, a qualify for a spot in the semi-finals.

In the Men’s Reserve 3 competition, Woodcom Hautapu Men’s beat Suburbs Saints 4-0 to clinch fourth place on a congested ladder, and to reach their semi-finals.

Te Miro Water Hautapu Men’s drew 0-0 with Varsity to also take fourth spot on their table, and go into the last four.

Though Evans & Co. Hautapu Women’s missed out on the semi-finals of the Women’s Reserve 3 grade, they made the most of Club Day, winning 6-0 against FTHC Cruisey Blues.
